MF Freeman celebrate Golden Anniversary whilst helping new residents to celebrate their Diamond Anniversary and welcoming them to The Fairways Family!

In 1966 husband and wife duo Mervyn and Jenny set up the MF Freeman Group and this year they are celebrating their 50th Anniversary. MF Freeman has grown from a 2 person company set up in the couple’s living room to a multi-division Award winning company of over 100 employees.  One of these divisions is Freeman Retirement Living, which has produced the fantastic 75 apartment retirement village The Fairways in Chippenham.

The Fairways is a new way of life for people over 55, which is a new concept in independent living. All the amenities at The Fairways are specially designed for those wanting to maintain independence yet have the security of knowing help is on hand if and when they may need it in the future. Not only does The Fairways provide fantastic facilities such as a restaurant, pool, cinema room, library and residents lounge but also the opportunity to surround yourself with like-minded neighbours whilst living in luxury award winning accommodation.

These were some of the key factors which influenced Mr and Mrs Bull to move from their family home in Oxford to The Fairways. One of the main reasons for moving to The Fairways was to be closer to their family during retirement and to be able to enjoy their retirement years in comfortable, luxury living in the company of like-minded neighbours. Mrs Bull commented “since we have moved into the village we have settled in very well and this was helped enormously by the kindness and support from our new neighbours and the staff at The Fairways”

Mr and Mrs Bull wanted to move into The Fairways prior to their 60th Wedding Anniversary so they would be able to enjoy their celebrations in their new home and Freeman Retirement Living couldn’t let the momentous occasion pass without a celebration. After being asked what they believed the success of their long marriage was due to the couple responded “we have respect and loyalty for each other and whilst we have shared interests we also have individual ones”.  Hopefully Mr and Mrs Bull will continue these shared and individual interests throughout their retirement at The Fairways and may even involve some of their new neighbours.

The Fairways would like to wish Mr and Mrs Bull all the best in their new home and hope they enjoy many more happy years of married life in the Village.
