The Fairways

The Fairways is now a complete and thriving retirement village, delivering a proven model for later living. The development comprises 75 individually designed, custom-built apartments in a range of styles, including one, two and three-bedroom homes, alongside two-storey duplexes.

Every detail was carefully considered, from the earliest concept stage through to the final fixtures and fittings, to create distinctive homes that are both practical and enjoyable to live in. Equal attention was given to the wider environment, with thoughtfully planned facilities and amenities designed to foster a vibrant, supportive community. The result is a place where residents can enjoy independence with the reassurance of community life on their doorstep.

Facilities

Designed in partnership with KWL Architects, the village is centred around a spacious atrium – an unheated, covered outdoor space that provides a sociable focal point for residents. The atrium offers café-style seating alongside leisure facilities such as indoor bowls and chess, encouraging informal interaction in all seasons.

At the heart of the development is a central hub featuring a 40-seat restaurant, together with a shop and beauty salon. Additional communal facilities are accessed via the atrium, reinforcing the sense of connection throughout the village.

The Young at Heart Wellness Spa includes a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and a well-equipped gym. Further amenities include a snooker room, library, cinema room, activities space, resident lounge, and café. Designed to evoke the feel of a boutique hotel, The Fairways demonstrates how later living can be both enriching and enjoyable from the age of 55.

Location

Situated adjacent to Chippenham Golf Club, The Fairways enjoys a peaceful setting with far-reaching views across the course to the west. The historic market town of Chippenham lies just a few miles away, providing convenient access to shops, services and transport links.

The four-acre site was formerly occupied by the golf club’s clubhouse, which was carefully redeveloped and repositioned on the eastern edge of the course as part of the scheme.

In addition to personal care, MHA places importance on spiritual wellbeing. A dedicated Chaplain is available at The Fairways to support residents and their families, should they wish to access this service.
